So, I have this special face I do when people tend to mock me or annoy me. Trust me. It's uglier than what you think it might look like.
I went to this one fine restaurant in Shah Alam. While ordering, I kinda ordered and pronounced it wrongly and I immediately correct it. You know, when you actually realize what you're saying is wrong, you say sorry and say what you actually wanted. I kinda slipped my tongue by ordering a set of 1/2 chicken. What I wanted was 2 sets of 1/4 chicken. Well, if you calculate it still is 1/2 chicken. So, I kinda babbled myself up when I'm correcting my sentence and my tongue went on like roller coaster.
So, I ate my food, happily. Omnomnom! Hee.
I went on to the counter to pay the bills. I just don't like to ask the waiter/waitresses to bring me the bill. I don't know. It just seems so wrong, I mean ethically. I paid and then this one guy came out from the kitchen, walked straight behind me to the main entrance and mocked me.
'takkan order ayam pun tak reti. 1/2 chicken is not 1/4 chicken. pfft'
Wait dude. What did you just say? I looked at the cashier, she seems lost. Then, I looked at the girl who took my order. She was giggling her throat out. Wow. Did they just made fun of me?
I know what I wore that day made me look slobbish. A pair of faded jeans, long sleeve plain purple tee, a pair of Tom shoes matched with this tudung bawal I bought online. Yeah, I know. I look ugly to that girl. I kinda saw her doing faces when I ordered the food wrongly. She's my height, straight hair, fair skin, braceface and yup, she's kinda pretty.
But, do you actually have to tell everyone about someone's mistake? Was it so bad that your momma got killed? And that guy, that kitchen guy. Why do you mock people? So that people can actually look up on you? Look, here's the deal. I don't care if you're a bus driver, a cook at a small laksa stall or maybe just some maid from Indonesia. I don't look down on people. You know why? Cause I don't know you. You maybe just one kitchen boy now, but tomorrow you might own a restaurant and have somebody else work as a kitchen boy for you.
I don't care if they wanna mock me. Mock the hell out of me later, when I'm out of there. Then you can continue babbling and laughing and continue crapping about me. It's the fact that that girl who took my order, actually told her friend about me, about this one silly mistake everybody makes. What do you feel when you're being humiliated in a restaurant, in front of the others? I just can't find one solid and concrete motive of him and her doing that to me. Maybe it's because it's fun, making fun of other peoples silly mistake?
And you know how I kinda have that feeling that she was looking down on me? It was not feeling. It was her, her gesture. She was looking at my mum and I when we walked in. I saw her doing faces to her friend and it was a hey-look-another-loser-came-in-and-wanna-eat-good-food-but-she-doesn't-look-educated-enough-and-hell-yeah-she's-just-poor face. You know?
Thank God, I didn't make that silly face of mine when they mocked me. Mama's gonna be like super weird and she's gonna ask hell lots of question like a police inspector. Alhamdulillah. Allah still is giving me that thing I called patience. If not, I'm gonna mock you too and make myself look silly. Euww. Hell no.
Cause sorry sport, I just don't talk shit like you do.
See ya, wouldn't wanna be ya!
